Our readathon is coming up on Friday 23 Feb. Running from 10.30 to 3.00, this free event offers a mix of story-reading and craft for kids, themed around Michael Morpurgo’s book “The Rainbow Bear”. There is no need to book — just turn up!
Friday 16 March at 7pm: “An evening without Jake Thackray”
Enjoy the poetry, wit, irreverence and humanity in the songs of one of our finest and funniest wordsmiths, Jake Thackray. Performed by John Watterson, the evening offers a mix of Jake’s best known songs with some you’ve likely never heard before, with John’s style and sound the closest you’re ever going to get to authentic Thackray. We run a regular monthly program of cinema events, usually on the fourth Friday and Saturday of each month. Friday events (for grown-ups) start at 7pm, Saturday events (for children) start at 2pm. Refreshments are available including ice creams. For details, please see our Facebook page.

Greenhill Village History Society
The society is a Community, non – profit making group, meeting at Greenhill Library. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 2.00pm. To Research, collate and record information about the local area, in a friendly, informal environment.

Activities for young children
The Friends of Greenhill Library are very pleased to be able to continue the following regular sessions at the library in 2017. Sessions are free but donations are welcome.
A fun time for 0-4 year olds and their carers with toys, craft, songs, and a snack.
Fun time drop-in sessions run on the second Monday of the month during term-time, from 10-11.30 am. All are welcome. There is no charge but a donation is appreciated.

Stories and crafts for pre-schoolers. 10-10.45 on alternate Fridays in term time. Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer. Age range 2 – 4 years. Donations welcome!
Craft sessions for children aged 5 – 9 years, run by Lynne Brown. Sessions run after school every Friday. This term the theme is dragons!
